A 26-year-old woman on Monday night killed her father with an axe after he allegedly attempted to rape her in Badkot area of Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district.
Uttarkashi, June 19: A 26-year-old woman on Monday night killed her father with an axe after he allegedly attempted to rape her in Badkot area of Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district. The woman has been arrested on Tuesday by the revenue police and the case is yet to come to the regular cops, reported Hindustan Times. According to reports, the woman, who is married, came to her 51-year-old father's house to attend a function. “On Monday night, the accused was sleeping in the house after attending the function. After a few moments, the deceased came into her room and pounced on her. Shocked, she protested after which he tried to overpower her,” said a village local to Hindustan Times.
The local added that while trying to resist she picked an axe and attacked her father several times. Later when her family members came from the function, she narrated the ordeal. Police officials confirmed the man's death, but they are yet to investigate the exact reason.
