Dehradun, July 21: Amid the reports of three persons of a family killed after their houses collapsed due to incessant rains at Munsiyari town in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district, a video from the same place is becoming viral. In the video, a patient was seen carried on a makeshift stretcher made of wooden logs by villagers in Munsiyari area of Pithoragarh to reach the hospital.
According to the video, the villagers can be seen carrying the patient on a makeshift stretcher on their shoulders by jumping over the rocks of a mountain river at Munsiyari town in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district. Due to the heavy rainfall and landslide, the road connecting the village to the hospital was blocked and the people decided to carry the patient in a wooden log. Earlier on Monday, three people of a family died, while 11 other people went missing after their houses collapsed in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday due to incessant rains. Officials have stated that they have recovered two bodies and the search is on to find the third one. IMD had earlier issued a warning of heavy rains in some isolated places on Monday in Pithoragarh, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal, Nainital, and Bageshwar district.
