Lucknow, July 5: A youth from Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking himself to be declared as former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's son. Sanjeev Dwivedi, a lawyer in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, has said that he considers himself as the son of Vajpayee and wants the court to declare him as a foster son of the former prime minister.
According to reports, Dwivedi said that he was inspired by Vajpayee after his 1996 Parliament speech and considers the former prime minister his God. He said that his mornings begin with a Vajpayee prayer in front of the former prime minister's photograph, which is kept in a small temple in his house.
Dwivedi also said that he has written a book on Vajpayee and that will be published soon. He has said that he feels there is an emotional connect between him and Vajpayee. Dwivedi claims that the first time he met Vajpayee, the former PM had tears in his eyes.
Vajpayee is currently admitted to AIIMS in the national capital. Dwivedi said that he was worried about the former PM's health and wanted to stay by his side to take care of him, and had, therefore, moved court for him to be declared as Vajpayee's son.
