Uttar Pradesh: Thrashed by Mother, Two Sisters Found Hanging From Tree in Sambhal

According to a tweet by ANI, the two girls, who were siblings were found hanging in a village under Gunnaur police station limits of the state.

Lucknow, January 7: In a tragic incident, two girls were found hanging from a tree in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal on Sunday. According to a tweet by ANI, the two girls, who were siblings were found hanging in a village under Gunnaur police station limits of the state. According to details by Police, locals informed that the girls took this extreme step of ending their lives after they were thrashed by their mother. The Police added saying that the mother brutally hit the sisters after they failed to provide fodder to their cattle. According to reports, Gunnaur Circle Officer Gamleshwar Biltoriya said that the deceased have been identified as- Kavita, who is 18-year old, and Seema who is 19-year old. When family members were asked about the incident, they said both the girls had gone out of their house on Saturday, and on returning they were scolded by their mother. They went missing at night.

In October 2017, a similar incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh where a 15-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in Mainpuri. The police had said she was allegedly beaten to death.
