Lucknow, April 24: Chandra Prakash Mishra, a 35-year-old resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki, was allegedly beaten to death by his wife and her family over a dispute of a ‘wedding gift’. According to reports, Mishra wanted to gift a gold ring and a television to his sister on her wedding which was scheduled to be held on April 26. However, his wife Chabi disapproved of his plan, which led to an argument between the couple.

Chabi's brothers reportedly beat Mishra with sticks for over sixty minutes. When the victim’s other family members came to know about the incident, they rushed him to a nearby hospital. Mishra succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Previously, in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district, a 38-year-old woman allegedly shot her husband to death after they got into an argument over money. Poonam Singh, the accused of killing Narendra Kumar Singh, a chartered accountant employed by a reputable private company, has been taken into custody by the police. Narendra, 42, had allegedly taken Rs 17,000 from his wife’s purse, but he was denying it, according to the police. Poonam informed the authorities that Narendra was an alcoholic and that they frequently got into fights over various issues.
