Bareilly, July 11: In a shocking incident, a Triple Talaq victim in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly died after her husband allegedly thrashed and confined to a room without food for a month. The victim lost her life during medical treatment on Tuesday, reports informed.

According to an ANI report, Razia's sister, the victim, who has a six-year-old child, had got divorced from her husband over the phone. She informed that the victim’s family went to the Police to register the incident but were turned down.

Soon after, the husband locked his wife inside the room without any food or water for a month. Reports inform that the woman was thrashed by her husband for dowry. Razia informed the police saying, "After locking her for a month in the house, he left her at a relative's house. I got her home as soon as I was informed”. “We went to the police to report the incident. However, the police didn't register any case," she added.

Farhat Naqvi, Founder of NGO Mera Haq was quoted by ANI that Razia's husband Nahim was married before and that he tortured his first wife in the same way. "Razia was admitted to the district hospital. After that, she was transferred to Lucknow for treatment. However, her condition became critical and was transferred back," Naqvi added.

Earlier this month, a 24-year old woman was given triple talaq and was forced to leave her husband's house. The incident took place in Pahretha village of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh. On the basis of her complaint, a case of domestic violence will be registered the husband, senior police officer Banshraj Yadav was quoted by PTI.
