A man was arrested for killing his wife in a brutal attack fueled by suspicions of infidelity in Sitapur late on Thursday, May 23. The 42-year-old accused, identified as Garibe Lal, allegedly murdered his 42-year-old wife, Kiran Devi, also known as Tina, with an axe.

Sitapur, May 25: A man was arrested for killing his wife in a brutal attack fueled by suspicions of infidelity in Sitapur late on Thursday, May 23. The 42-year-old accused, identified as Garibe Lal, allegedly murdered his 42-year-old wife, Kiran Devi, also known as Tina, with an axe. As per a report, the incident occurred at their residence in front of the couple's minor children in Sitapur. After committing the crime, the man surrendered to Mehmoodabad police station, prompting an investigation.

According to a report by the Times of India, Garibe Lal reportedly entered the room brandishing an axe and launched a fatal attack on Kiran. The horrific scene unfolded as their children watched their mother scream for help while lying wounded on the ground. The children, traumatised by the sight of their mother's suffering, rushed outside to seek help from the villagers. As per the report, despite the villager's efforts to save her, Kiran's injuries were severe. She was initially taken to the Mehmoodabad Community Health Centre but was later transferred to the district hospital. Unfortunately, Kiran succumbed to her wounds shortly after arrival at the hospital. An FIR has been lodged against him based on a complaint filed by Kiran's father, Maniram, who resides in Godaha village under the Ramapur Mathura police station. As the investigation into this case continues to unfold, Mehmoodabad SHO Anil Kumar Singh revealed that prior tensions between Kiran and Garibe Lal, fueled by suspicions of extramarital affairs, may have contributed to the tragic outcome.
