Bijnor, May 18: In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor, a 13-year-old girl allegedly strangled her two younger stepsisters, aged 5 and 7, to death in Gauhavar Jait village, Noorpur, on Thursday night to “reduce her workload.” The victims were found dead in their home on Friday morning.

According to a TOI report, the accused, the eldest of six children and the only child from her mother’s first marriage, was reportedly overwhelmed with the burden of household chores due to her mother’s illness and the absence of her father, a daily wager at a brick kiln. Bijnor SP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun confirmed the incident, stating, “Around midnight, we received a tipoff that two children had been murdered in the village. We reached the spot, found their bodies in their room, and sent them to the district hospital for autopsy, which confirmed that the two girls had been strangled.”

Upon questioning, the accused initially claimed that two people had broken into their room and killed her sisters, but her story changed multiple times. The investigation is ongoing.
