Gorakhpur, July 7: In a bizarre incident, a 24-year-old man in Siddharthnagar district in Uttar Pradesh strangled his wife to death as she allegedly refused to have sexual intercourse with him. Following the incident, the accused cut his private parts and is undergoing treatment at Baba Raghav Das Medical College, Gorakhpur.

With the shocking incident being heard, the state police registered a case against the accused - Anwarul Hasan, resident of Kakra Pokhar village - under Pathra police station in Siddharthnagar district, based on wife's father complaint. Reports state that Hasan had married Mehnaz over a year ago and had come to home Surat just two days ago. Hasan attacked Mehnaz when the couple was alone at home. Police was informed about the incident by the neighbours after they peeked through an open window on hearing noise and saw Mehnaz lying on the floor and Hasan in a pool of blood.

Briefing about the incident, Hasan later said, as reported by TOI, "I got very angry when my wife refused to entertain my request of sex. I strangulated her to death and then cut my own private parts."
