Lucknow, December 17: In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh, a minor girl was stripped and brutally thrashed by two men while she was on her way to the police station to register a complaint. Reports inform that the 17-year-old girl was stripped half-naked when she was going to the Chauri Chaura police station in Gorakhpur to file a complaint after being sexually harassed  by the duo. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the two accused threatened her not to file a complaint and also thrashed the girl's father and sister-in-law when they tried to save the girl.

The incident came to light after the family filed a complaint regarding the assault on the girl. The FIR stated that the duo first harassed the girl when she was returning home on Sunday. Uttar Pradesh Shocker: 14-Year-Old Boy Held for Raping Minor Girl in Lakhimpur District.

Police informed that both the men have been arrested and sent to jail. The two accused men have been booked under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354(a) (sexual harassment) and 341 (wrongful restraint), among others, of the Indian Penal Code. They also have been booked under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
