Lucknow, August 27: In a shocking incident, some policemen in Uttar Pradesh were caught on camera celebrating a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA's birthday. According to a tweet by news agency Times Now, the policemen were seen celebrating BJP MLA Sanjiv Raja's birthday along with few administrative officials. As per the video, the celebrations were held in a police station in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh city.
According to reports, tension mounted in Aligarh after two groups resorted to violence over the entry of a community in a fest hosted by Yadavs in the area. The clash broke out while the BJP MLA was busy in celebrating his birthday in a police station. According to a report by ABP News, a person alleged that entry for the Valmiki group has been banned but some entered the fest, triggering clashes in the area.

Earlier this week, the Aligarh police booked a 32-year-old man for allegedly burning a national flag made on paper. The suspect is absconding since then and efforts to nab him are underway. The man has been booked under the prevention of insults to National Honour Act, 1971. According to a report by TOI, the man, identified as Sattan Singh, was trying to burn the flag with a matchstick when someone spotted and tried to stop him.
