Uttar Pradesh: Man Kills Wife Over Dowry in Mandi Shyam Nagar, Case Registered

Lucknow, August 25: In a shocking incident, a woman was killed by her husband in Uttar Pradesh allegedly over demands of dowry. According to a tweet by ANI, the incident took place at Gautam Buddh Nagar district's Mandi Shyam Nagar area. The brutal incident took place on August 23. Reports inform that the man killed his wife in front of their two kids- 11-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter.
The Police has registered a case into the matter. No arrests have been made so far and an investigation into the matter is underway. Earlier this month, a similar dowry-related death incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh's Aliganj area where a woman was killed allegedly for dowry by her husband and in-laws. The deceased identified as Premvati (20) was shot dead allegedly by her husband and in-laws, her father alleged in a complaint filed to the police.
Earlier this week, a newly married woman was murdered for dowry in Bihar's Manoharpur village in Saran district. According to details by Police, the woman was married to Amit Mahto on June 25 this year and was brutally murdered to death when her family members refused to meet their dowry demand of Rs 1 lakh.
