Uttar Pradesh: Man, Elderly Father Robbed of Over Rs 1 Lakh in Noida
A man and his elderly father were robbed of over Rs 1 lakh by the accused who offered the duo lift in Noida on September 16. A case has been registered against the four unknown suspects in the matter on Wednesday and investigation is underway.
Lucknow, September 24: In an another case of robbery, a man and his elderly father were allegedly robbed of money worth more than Rs 1 lakh when Iqrar Ali and his father Sohrab Ali were waiting for a bus in Noida. Reports inform that four people in a car gave the father-son duo lift, held them hostage and snatched money worth Rs 1,20,000 from them. The accused also took debit card from Iqrar Ali and withdrew Rs 50,00 from his account. They then dumped the duo on Yamuna Expressway and fled. A case has been filed in the matter and investigation is underway.
According to a report by the Hindustan Times, the victims were waiting to catch a bus at Mahamaya Flyover in Noida when a car stopped by and the four accused offered them a lift saying they were going on the same route. However, once the father-son duo sat inside the car, they were held hostages and hit by an iron rod when they resisted. The accused then snatched Rs 1.20 lakh from them. Iqrar Ali was quoted as saying "They took away our money, mobile phone and debit card. Then they drove on the Yamuna Expressway and dumped us near Jewar toll plaza at 8.30am." Following which the father-son duo boarded a bus to Agra and informed their relatives about the incident. A case was filed at the Sector 39 police station, Noida. SHO Rajeev Kumar told the Hindustan Times, “The complainant was not able to narrate the incident properly on day one. We investigated the matter and then registered an FIR. We are scanning the CCTV camera footage to identify the car and arrest the suspects." A case was registered under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code on Wednesday against unknown suspects in this regard.
