Lucknow, September 25: A man was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad for allegedly raping his teenage stepdaughter and video recording the act on his mobile phone. As per the police, the accused filmed the crime allegedly to blackmail the victim. The accused was arrested after the victim's mother filed a police complaint.

As per the report published by the India Today, the accused was identified as Raju. The report said the incident came to light when the minor victim shared her ordeal with her mother, who then confronted the accused. When the police attempted to apprehend Raju, he made a desperate attempt to evade them but unfortunately collided with a pole, resulting in severe injuries. He was subsequently taken to the government trauma centre. His medical condition is said to be stable. As per the police, the woman had divorced her first husband four years ago and married the accused, Raju, three years ago. "A woman lodged a complaint that her husband sexually assaulted her 16-year-old daughter and blackmailed her. The police found highly objectionable videos and photos of the man with the girl. In another shocking incident, a 20-year-old pregnant woman in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar alleged that her father-in-law raped her in the absence of her husband. Shockingly, when the victim woman told his husband about the incident, he not only refused to keep her with him, citing Islamic law (Shariat law) but also said that she was no longer his wife.
