Gorakhpur, January 6: A young girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur was expelled from school after she raised her voice against a molester at a crowded place close to her school. The Class 11 girl thrashed a molester with slippers at a public place and then called the Police to arrest him. The brave girl, however, was on Saturday expelled from her school as part of disciplinary action.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the girl was intercepted by a 25-year-old man while she was on her way back from school on Thursday. Anguished by his behaviour, the girl hit him in full public view and later called the police for help. The accused was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and sent to jail. Mumbai Police Constable Caught Molesting Woman on Video at Kalyan Station, Thrashed by Public.

The report states that when the girl reached school on Saturday, the principal of the school called her asking her to collect her transfer certificate and leave the school as she has caused harm to the institution’s reputation. The girl informed that the principal told her that she was expelled as she created chaos by blowing the matter out of proportion. Meanwhile, the principal justified his actions saying that the girl left the school before classes got over and it shall be treated as indiscipline. The principal said if no action is taken, it will encourage others to break rules. However, a teacher from the institution was quoted in the report saying that disciplinary action against the brave girl will only discourage others from raising their voices.
