Sambhal, January 4: The Uttar Pradesh (UP) police has been involved in a lot of 'criminal cleaning drive' since Yogi Adityanath came to power in the year 2017. However, in a similar encounter that took place in October in Sambhal district, a police officer became famous after a video of him screaming 'thain thain' to fool criminals went viral on social media. But this time, Sub-inspector Manoj Kumar was involved in another encounter on Friday and he has been injured. According to Times of India report, the Sambhal sub-inspector was injured during a gunfight on Friday morning at Alianekpur village of Uttar Pradesh. Acting on a tip-off, the officials were searching a village in hopes to catch the wanted criminal, Saddam. Saddam, who had been wanted in 15 cases, was arrested after a gun battle. Saddam with an accomplice was going towards Asmoli village when Police tried to stop them but they open fire on the cops. In the retaliatory firing, Kumar suffered bullet injuries in his leg while Saddam's accomplice managed to escape.

Earlier, a video of Kumar shouting 'Thain Thain' to scare criminals went viral on Social Media. In the video, Kumar can be seen replicating the firing sounds after his gun jammed. For this act of bravery, the UP police had sent his name for a commendation disc and certificate from the director general of police (DGP).
