Lucknow, December 6: The family of slain policeman Inspector Subodh Singh on Thursday met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence. Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was lynched by a violent mob in Bulandshahr last week. The mob was allegedly led by Yogesh Raj, member of Bajrang Dal, who claimed that seven men slaughtered cows in village Mahaw. Yogesh Raj has been absconding. On Wednesday, a video surfaced suggesting that the murder of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh by a violent mob in Bulandshahr and Sumit, a 20-year-old youth, could be linked. The mob, which was comprised of members of various Hindu groups, might have killed Subodh Kumar in retaliation to police firing which allegedly resulted in Sumit's death. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh DGP OP Singh called the incident "a big conspiracy" and not any law and order issue. “The incident in Bulandshahr is a big conspiracy. This is not only a law and order issue, how did the cattle carcass reach there? Who brought it, why & under what circumstances," he questioned. Earlier, Adityanath had called for an emergency meeting of senior administrators at his residence on Tuesday night and directed them to take stringent action against the perpetrators.
Four people have been arrested, while 4-5 people have been detained in the case. Police have registered an FIR against 28 people and constituted six SIT teams to probe the matter.
