Lucknow, August 30: A bus conductor from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), who was dismissed from his job after reportedly stopping a Delhi-bound bus to allow two Muslim passengers to pray in Bareilly about three months ago, was found dead on the railway tracks near his hometown in Mainpuri district early on Monday morning. According to the media reports, the body of Mohit Yadav (32) was found in a mutilated condition.

Reportedly, the police found no suicide note, but Mohit's family asserted that he ended his life by leaping before a moving train. It is said that the decision to take the extreme step stemmed from his mental and financial distress, aggravated by failing to overturn his suspension following multiple attempts.  UP Roadways Bus Halts Mid-Way as Two Men Get Down to Offer Namaz in Bareilly, Police React After Video Surfaces Online.

On June 3, Mohit and bus driver KP Singh allegedly let two Muslim passengers to offer Namaj when a few other commuters had requested to stop the bus to go to the bathroom. However, things took turns when someone recorded and posted the incident on social media. Two days after the June 3rd incident, where a video depicting the event gained viral attention, action was initiated against Mohit and bus driver KP Singh. KP Singh, an established UPSRTC staff member, was suspended, while Mohit, employed on a contractual basis, had been associated with UPSRTC for approximately a decade.
