UPSC Final Results 2018 Declared @upsc.gov.in: Civil Services Aspirant Namrata Jain, From Naxal Affected Dantewada, Secures All India Rank 12

A total of 812 students have cleared the UPSC 2018, down from 990 qualifiers in the previous year.

New Delhi, April 5: In the Left-wing violence affected region of Dantewada in Chhattisgarh, a female civil services aspirant, Namrata Jain, has not only cleared the strenuous Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, but also emerged as one of the toppers. The UPSC 2018 final results declared on the Commission's official website - upsc.gov.in - shows Namrata securing the All India Rank 12.

A total of 812 students have cleared the UPSC 2018, down from 990 qualifiers in the previous year. A section-wise breakdown has showed that among the 812 students who have passed, 414 are from the general category, 209 from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 128 from the Scheduled Castes and 61 from the Scheduled Tribes.

180 of the 812 qualifiers have been selected for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), followed by 30 for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and 150 for the Indian Police Service (IPS). 384 and 68 candidates have been selected for Group A and Group B Services, respectively.

The candidates who have qualified the UPSC examinations were selected through a three-pronged process which started last year. The aspirants were first asked to appear for the preliminary tests, held across the nation on June 5, 2018, followed by the Mains on October 7. The Group Discussion and Interview Round was held in February 2019.
