Lucknow, November 29: In an incident reminding one about the ‘namak-roti' mess in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur district that took place two months ago, a primary school in Sonbhadra's tribal area allegedly served diluted milk to students under the mid-day meal scheme in the school on November 27. One bucket water was mixed with a litre of milk to serve 85 students under the scheme, said reports. The Assistant Basic Shiksha Adhikari of Sonbhadra district said that he was told that milk was unavailable, so they were directed by authority to mix water in it, in a balanced quantity. "I'm also being told that teachers had gone to get more milk but meanwhile pictures were clicked and distributed by them." However, the officer has said that investigations will be held in the case.
