Lucknow, November 16: In an incident that evokes both pride and shame for two completely different yet connected reasons, a constable in Uttar Pradesh (UP) police is winning applause for his presence of mind and helping civilians as pictures of him carrying a heavily bleeding elderly man and taking him to hospital in his own vehicle in Sitapur district is doing rounds on social media. This is the proud part about the story.
However, what forced the constable to do this was the inability of the ambulance to reach the spot on time, an incident that has time and again proved fatal for patients as they lose precious minutes that could save lives. Watch the image of the brave constable with the bleeding man in his arms:
Constable Kapil Kumar's image with the heavily bleeding man is being appreciated on social media and rightly so. However, a 2-year-old baby in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district was not so lucky as the baby died after the district administration refused to provide an ambulance. The incident took place on Thursday, November 15, and the baby suffering from Pneumonia was referred to a Jammu hospital by the doctor. The family has been demanding that an FIR be filed against the Kishtwar administration, however, no FIR has yet been registered.
