Lucknow, April 26: A man accused of raping a cow was recently granted bail by the Allahabad High Court in the unnatural sex case. The 70-year-old man was allegedly accused of raping a cow that was under his care. The accused has been identified as Ram Khelawan. The Allahabad High Court bench recently allowed the bail plea of Khelawan, accused of unnatural sex, without sharing any opinion on the merit of the case.

According to a report in LawBeat, accused Ram Khelawan was booked for raping a cow under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and under section 11 of the Cruelty to Animals Act. As per the First Information Report (FIR), Ram Khelawan took care of the complainant's cow for several years. Counsel Tells Court His Client Is Innocent

The alleged incident occurred in July 2023 when the complainant received a video from unidentified people corroborating his suspicions. Seeking bail, the accused's counsel told the court that his client was falsely implicated. The counsel also said the accused was innocent and had no previous criminal history.

Speaking further, Ram Khelawan's lawyer said the allegations mentioned in the FIR were false. He also argued that no evidence on record could prove the accused's crime and said that his client was arrested based on the alleged video. Accused Granted Bail on Personal Bond

The court was also assured that the accused would not misuse his bail. After hearing both sides, the Allahabad High Court granted bail to the accused. The accused was granted bail after he furnished a personal bond with two reliable sureties. The high court considered the seriousness of the allegations and punishment upon conviction, among other things, before granting bail.
