New Delhi, August 6: The health condition of the Unnao rape survivor further deteriorated on Tuesday and is now critical, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) said. According to a tweet by ANI, the Trauma Centre of the AIIMS in Delhi informed that the the woman continues to be on life-support system and is on medication to support her blood pressure. "She is sick, on life support system, needing medication to support her blood pressure. She remains critical and is undergoing treatment under multi-disciplinary team of doctors", AIIMS said. On August 5, the woman was brought to the national capital from Lucknow and was admitted to the AIIMS trauma centre following the Supreme Court's order. An air ambulance was sent to Lucknow to bring her and the police there had also created a nearly 15-kilometre-long 'green corridor' to transport her from the hospital to the airport. Before her arrival in the national capital on Monday,  CRPF and Delhi Police personnel had reached the AIIMS trauma centre to make security arrangements. The rape survivor was critically injured in a road accident on July 28 in which two of her aunts were killed and her lawyer was severely injured. Earlier on Monday, the doctors at the King George's Medical University said the her condition was "improving" and that the process of taking her off the ventilator had begun.

Meanwhile, Delhi's Tis Hazari Court has sought information from the CBI regarding the safety and lodging facility to the family and victim's attendants. It has also sought a report from DG UP regarding the protection of witnesses there.

The rape survivor has accused former BJP lawmaker Kuldeep Singh Sengar of raping her at his residence in 2017. Sengar was recently expelled from the party after the Supreme Court took up the case, and ordered that the trial be shifted to Delhi.
