Lucknow, August 4: Unnao rape accused and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) expelled MLA Kuldeep Sengar on Sunday wished speedy recovery of the 20-year-old rape survivor. Sengar along with another accused Shashi Singh was taken to Delhi from Sitapur District Jail. They will be produced in Delhi's Tis Hazari Court on Monday. While speaking to reporters, Sengar alleged that the case against him is a politically motivated vendetta. The expelled BJP lawmaker further added that he has trust in the judiciary. Earlier, the court had issued a production warrant against MLA Sengar and Singh, asking them and others involved in the case to be produced before the court on August 5, 2019, at 12.30 PM. While a day before the hearing, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided at least 17 premises related to the rape accused MLA. Sengar was expelled by the saffron party a day after the Central Bureau of Investigation registered an FIR against him in connection with an accident of rape survivor’s car on July 28. In the accident, two aunts of the victim were killed, while the rape survivor and her lawyer sustained injuries.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court shifted of all the five cases related to the Unnao rape case to a Delhi court from Lucknow and ordered that the hearing in the case be completed in 45 days. The court also directed authorities to provide interim relief of Rs 25 Lakh to the rape survivor.
