Mumbai, January 23: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Budget 2020 in the parliament on February 1, 2020. Though the day falls on Saturday, the BSE said in a notification that the exchanges will remain open for trading. The trading on country's leading exchanges NSE and BSE do not function on weekends, but will remain open on account of Union Budget 2020.
Earlier in 2015 also, when then Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the Union Budget 2016 on February 26, the trading functioned normally despite being Saturday. This is the second time in a row that, Budget is being presented on February 1, as previously it was done in 2019 by then Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
