Uddhav Thackeray Promotes Five IAS Officers to the Rank of Additional General Secretary & Principal Secretary

Mumbai, January 1: Five IAS officers were promoted by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Among them was GST commissioner Rajiv Jalota who was promoted to the rank of Additional General Secretary. In addition to Jalota, four IAS officers were promoted to the rank of Principal Secretary.

Among those promoted to the rank of Principal Secretary were Ashwini Bhide, Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director, Vikaschandra Rastogi, World Bank Agriculture Project Director, Radhika Rastogi, National Institute of Rural Development and K Govindraj, Textile Secretary. The report further mentions that on the completion of 16 years, an officer is promoted to the rank of Secretary and after 24 years to the role of Principal Secretary. Also for the role of Additional Chief Secretary, it is mostly 32 years, but it also depends on the number of vacancies.
