Aligarh, June 7: Hours after the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights sought fact-finding inquiry report from SSP and UP State Commission for Women Chairperson demanded the case of the murder of 2.5-year-old in Aligarh to be taken up in a fast track court, UP Police suspended five of their men for negligence.

Along with the immediate action, the Uttar Pradesh police also formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the incident. According to the reports, published by PTI, the five policemen were suspended for alleged delay in registering the case after the girl was reported missing. These policemen were also held responsible for delaying the probe which eventually led to the discovery of her body on June 2. ADG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said, while answering to the questions of reporters in Lucknow, as PTI quotes, The case will be fast-tracked. POCSO will also be included in the FIR. As of now, sexual assault is not ruled out." Even Aligarh SSP Akash Kulhari too said vaginal swab and slides have been sent to a forensic science laboratory.

During the initial investigation, it was confirmed that Twinkle Sharma died due to strangulation and there was no sign of sexual assault, says the post-mortem report. The probe also found out that the murder took place over the repayment of an Rs 10,000-loan.
