Mumbai, January 15: On Tuesday, an FIR was registered against West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh for his "shot them like dog" remark against anti-CAA protesters. Trinamool Congress leader Krishnendu Banerjee lodged a formal complaint again Ghosh at Ranaghat Police station.

In the Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case, Mukesh Singh, one of the convicts, moved mercy petition before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. Singh's plea comes hours after the apex Court dismissed the curative petitions filed by two convicts - one of which is Singh and the other is Vinay Kumar. The curative petition is the last and final legal remedy available to convicts.
