No loss of lives were reported in the incident, but reports have confirmed massive agrarian devastation in the region. The extreme weather situation lasted for a short while. The visuals, shared below are from Monday when massive rainfall was reported in several parts of the nation. In Gujarat, where low to moderate downpour was witnessed in few parts, a rare phenomenon was seen in Sabarkantha district's Talod area.

Tornadoes in India are a rare phenomenon. The extreme weather situation arises when a rapidly rotating column of air is in contact with both the Earth's surface as well as the base of a cumulus clouds.
The tornado-like cloud formation in Sabarkantha district comes amid the ongoing rain fury in North India, where over 150 people have died so far in the last five days. The worst brunt has been faced by eastern Uttar Pradesh, where 111 deaths have been recorded, followed by Bihar where at least 40 have been confirmed dead.
