New Delhi, June 4: The Trinamool Congress workers and locals of West Bengal's Dum Dum sent around 10,000 postcards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The postcards were having messages of Vande Mataram, Jai Hind and Jai Bangla on them. The war of words is going on between Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government and Bharatiya Janata Party after some BJP supporters chanted "Jai Shri Ram" on West Bengal CM's convoy. "We wanted to show what's in the minds of people. We don't want to go and shout before his vehicle," D Banerjee, the council of South Dum Dum Municipality chairman said, reported news agency ANI. On Monday, TMC leader Jyotipriya Mullick said that his party will send 20 lakh postcards with message 'Jai Hind, Jai Bangla' to PM Narendra Modi and newly appointed Home Minister Amit Shah.

Mamata Banerjee and other TMC leaders on Monday changed their display picture on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter to 'Jay Hind, Jay Bangla'. In a Fb post, Banerjee also accused BJP of mixing religion with politics. BJP Leader To Send 10 Lakh 'Jai Shri Ram' Postcards To Mamata Banerjee.
"Jai Sia Ram, Jai Ram Ji Ki, Ram Naam Satya hai etc. have religious and social connotations. We respect these sentiments. But BJP is using religious slogan Jai Sri Ram as their party slogan in a misconceived manner by way of mixing religion with politics," Banerjee wrote in her Facebook post.
