New Delhi, July 21: BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry appointed IAS officer Tina Dabi as an honorary advisor to the steering committee as BRICS CCI Young Leader. Dabi's appointment will be for a period of three years and is for the session from 2020 to 2023.

Informing about the appointment, assistant director of BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry -- Deepanga Singhi -- wrote a letter to Dabi. In the letter, it was written, as quoted by Hindustan Times, "Your expertise as an achiever is a fitting example of a role model for the youth in a global society and we strongly believe that your vision will inspire our motive further." It is to be known that Tina Dabi is the topper of the 2016 UPSC civil services examination. She is currently posted as a sub-divisional officer (SDO) in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara.

Commenting on the appointment, Dabi said, as quoted by TOI, "BRICS CCI has launched a young leader's initiative to connect the youth of the five countries -- Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. In order to conduct various activities, they have formed a steering committee and I have been given the role of honorary advisor." She further added that she was taken on board on July 17, 2020.
