Barhi, August 13: A tiger had a narrow escape from death after falling into a dry well in Pipariyakala village in Madhya Pradesh’s Katni district on Tuesday. On being informed, the forest officials immediately reached Katni town and called another team to begin the rescue operations. "If the tiger is healthy, then he will be reunited with his mother. Otherwise, we will send him for medical treatment," said a forest official. Tiger rescued in Katni district:

A Forest Department official said, "We were informed about the incident early morning. We immediately sent a team to the spot. The team was asked to clear the people from the area. Animals are prone to panic attacks if there are too many people around."

Last month, in a similar incident, a leopard was rescued from well in Fakte village of Shirur Taluka in Maharashtra's Pune. After rescuing, the feline was sent to Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre for a check-up and was later released to its natural habitat.
