Mumbai, January 17: Water supply in Thane is likely to be affected on Wednesday, January 18. The Thane Municipal Corporation on Monday said that water supply in some parts of the city would remain affected on Wednesday due to the civic body's maintenance work under 'STEM' water authority.

According to a report in Mid-day, the civic body will be taking up water supply shutdown work under the STEM Water Authority in order to carry out maintenance and repair work. Besides, the civic body is also going to install vacuum air valves on the main water channel at Saket bridge. They will also carry out daily maintenance and repair work of water supply.

"Accordingly on Wednesday from 9.00 am to Thursday 9.00 am Ghodbunder Road, Lokmanyanagar, Vartaknagar, Saket, Ritupark, Jail, Gandhinagar, Rustamji, Siddanchal, Indiranagar, Rupadevi, Srinagar, Samtanagar, Siddheshwar, Eternity, Johnson, the water supply will be completely shut off for 24 hours in some areas of Mumbra and Kalwa in Thane," the notice stated. Mumbai Shocker: Woman Slaps Drunk Man After He Molests Her at Malad Railway Station; Accused Arrested.

The TMC also said that water supply will be of low pressure for the next one to two days until the water supply is completely restored. In view of complete water supply shutdown, the Thane Municipal Corporation has requested people to store and use water carefully and to support the civic body.
