Mumbai, September 3: A day after a man and his wife from Kalwa were discovered in a pool of blood at their house late on Friday, police inquiry showed that the man, Dilip Salvi (57), had shot the wife, Pramila, because he accused her of being unfaithful, according to authorities.
In a moment of wrath, Dilip is accused of shooting his wife in the head at close range about 10.15 p.m. According to the authorities, he shot the victim with his legally owned Smith & Wesson.32 revolver. Developer Dilip Salvi was the brother of Ganesh Salvi, a former Thane Municipal Corporation deputy mayor. He resided in the Kumbharali neighbourhood in Yashwant Niwas. The deceased couple left behind a son and an older, married daughter. When their neighbours heard the gunshot, they hurried to their house and discovered the couple lying in a pool of blood on the living room floor.
Dilip, who had a history of high blood pressure and chronic diabetes, died of a cerebral haemorrhage, according to the results of a post-mortem study performed on Deepak and Pramila at Kalwa Hospital, a senior official informed TOI. According to the police officer, Pramila's autopsy showed that the wound brought on by the bullet that passed through her neck and jawline caused her death. When neighbours told police of the gunshot, Deputy Commissioner of Police Ganesh Gawade and other officers hurried to the spot. The police then filed a murder case against Dilip in response to a complaint made by the couple's son. Their kid filed a police report alleging that his parents had a long-standing argument and that they routinely argued.
According to the criminal charge filed, Dilip formerly had doubts about his wife's morals and the two of them frequently engaged in tense disagreements.
