Thane, September 24: In a shocking incident, a woman suffering from depression allegedly smothered her two-year-old daughter to death with a pillow and later hanged herself in the same room at her home in Dombivli. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night, September 22, at the Runwal MyCity township, where the 29-year-old woman, identified as Puja, lived with her husband, Rahul Sapkal, and her specially-abled mother-in-law. The discovery of both mother and daughter led to immediate police involvement as they began to investigate the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.

According to The Indian Express report, Puja was reportedly going through severe depression, which is believed to have driven her to take the drastic step. Earlier that evening, Rahul had briefly interacted with Puja before leaving home for a housing society meeting. After returning around 8 PM, when no one responded to his calls or the door, he feared something was wrong and sought help to break in. Inside, he found Puja hanging from the ceiling fan and their daughter, Samruddhi, lying lifeless on the bed. Thane Shocker: Upset About Being Childless, Couple Dies by Suicide by Hanging Themselves in Nadgaon Area.
