Thane Fire: Blaze Engulfs Computer Lab of Sri Ma Vidyalaya in Hiranandani Estate, Students and Staff Being Evacuated

According to a tweet by ANI, the fire engulfed the computer lab on the ground floor of the school. Reports inform that the students and staff are being evacuated.

Thane, January 21: A massive fire broke out in the computer lab of Sri Ma Vidyalaya school in Hiranandani Estate of Patlipada in Thane (West). According to a tweet by ANI, the fire engulfed the computer lab on the ground floor of the school. Reports inform that the students and staff are being evacuated. Police officials, RDMC (Regional Disaster Management cell) and fire brigade are at the site.

On 28th December 2018, five people, including four elderly people were killed after a level-3 fire broke out at society in Mumbai's suburban Tilak Nagar. A fireman was also injured in the operations. Mumbai: Fire Brigade Dept to Soon Procure Flying Drones For Combating Blaze in Highrises.

Earlier this month, there were reports that the Mumbai Fire Brigade is all set to open an integrated command and control room at Byculla by the end of this month. At present, all communication is carried out manually through the wireless system. According to a report by Hindustan Times, the fire department informed that this initiative will allow them to improve their response time by 5-6 minutes in addition to enabling real-time coordination between personnel and supervisors.
