'Terror Incidents, Infiltration in Kashmir Dropped After Balakot Air Strikes,' Says Home Ministry

New Delhi, July 9: Terror incidents in Kashmir dropped after Balakot strikes conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camps.  According to reports, Union Home Ministry in the parliament told that there was dip in the terror incidents in the Kashmir valley after the strikes. Terrorism in Jammu And Kashmir: 773 Terrorists Killed Since 2016; 113 in 2019 so Far, Says MoS Home G Kishan Reddy.

Minister of State (MoS) Nityanand Rai while answering a written question whether cross-border infiltration in Jammu and Kshmir after the Balakot air strikes, said in the Lok Sabha that net infiltration has reduced by 43 percent. The Centre also claimed that due to efforts of the forces the situation in Jammu and Kashmir improved in the first half of 2019 as compared to the corresponding period of 2018.  Jammu And Kashmir: Four Terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba Gunned Down in Pulwama Encounter.

Meanwhile, the second MoS  in the home ministry G Kishan Reddy said that terror incidents  declined by 28 percent. He further added that local recruitment was dipped by 40 percent. The minister stated that 22 percent more terrorist were gunned down by security forces in Kashmir.

Last month, Reddy revealed in the Lok Sabha that a total 773 terrorist were killed in Jammu and Kashmir since 2016. Speaking in the lower house, Reddy said that this year till June 16, a total of 113 terrorists have been killed in the state. In various terror-related incidents, 18 civilians have also lost their lives.
