Hyderabad, July 5: In what can be said to be a true Teacher's Day tribute ahead of the special day in September, more than half of the students at a government school in Telangana changed their school after their favourite teacher was transferred. The teacher, identified as J Srinivas (53), could not imagine the bond he created and the impact he left on the students at a government primary school in Ponakal village.

Over half of the 250 students left the school where Srinivas was teaching and joined the new school where he was transferred recently, reports TOI. The incident occurred at Ponakal village in Mancherial district's Jannaram. In the beginning, the students were seen crying and pouring out their emotions when they learned about Srinivas's transfer. Prosperity Can Only Be Achieved Through Communal Harmony, Says Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Students Inform Parents About Teacher's Transfer

Although Srinivas was helpless, he told the students he had no option as an "order was an order". However, what the students did next surprised everyone. The students of the government primary school in Ponakal village approached their parents and informed them about their teacher's transfer. The students also told their parents about their decision to join the new government school at Akkapelliguda, where Srinivas was transferred.

Teacher Transferred to Another School

On July 1, Srinivas was transferred to the new government school at Akkapelliguda. The next two days saw parents of nearly 133 students transferring their wards to the new school, which was 3 km away. While Sriniwas was surprised and taken aback by the decision, he tried to play down the icon-like adoration for him. Srinivas said that the decision shows the parents' trust in him. CM Revanth Reddy Led-Telangana Government To Appoint One Teacher for Every School With 10 Students.

Locals Recall Srinivas' Contributions

He also urged parents and students to make use of government schools as they have better facilities. Meanwhile, hailed Srinivas's contributions as he helped in boosting the strength of the school from 32 to 250 in the past 12 years. Speaking about the students' decision to transfer to a new school where Srinivas was posted, S Yadaiah, education officer, called it a rare thing. "Students leaving to join the school where their teacher has been posted is unheard of", he added.
