Hyderabad, October 15: After a fake audio clip about an alleged conversation between Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's staffer and an unidentified caller was widely circulated on social media, the CMO has registered a police complaint into the matter. The CMO has sought a detailed investigation into the fake audio clip. In its statement, the CMO said since the last few days, fake news has been reported in a section of print and electronic media. "Fake news is that someone called up CM office help line and the staff there have expressed their opinions", the CMO Office said in a statement.

Reports inform that somebody created a fake audio claiming it was a CMO staffer, which is not true. In the audio clip, the person who called up the CMO office said that due to the issues between RTC employees and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the common man in the state is facing problems and this issue should be resolved. B S Yeddyurappa Dismisses Audio Clips Released on Him by CM H D Kumaraswamy as 'Fake'.

According to a statement by the CMO, a complaint has been filed with Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar. A tweet by ANI quoted the he CMO office saying that somebody created a fake audio claiming it was from the CM office staff. It added saying that the CM office staff have registered a complaint with the City Police Commissioner to stop the spread of this fake news and also take action against the culprits.

Giving details about the incident, Kumar said the complaint has been further sent to the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) and a case has been registered under relevant Sections.
