Telangana Express Catches Fire Near Asoti-Ballabgarh in Haryana, Blaze Reported in Brake Binding Area of the Train

According to a tweet by ANI, the CPRO of Northern Railway informed that there was fire in brake binding of Telangana Express. The incident was detected at 7.43 am on Thursday morning near Asoti-Ballabgarh in Haryana. All passengers are reported to be safe. No casualties have been reported in the incident.

Hyderabad, August 29: A major mishap was averted on Thursday morning after a fire was reported in Telangana Express in Haryana. According to reports, train number 12723 - Hyderabad NDLS Telangana Express was stopped between Asaoti and Ballabgarh at 7:43 am as it was engulfed in heavy smoke and flames from wheels of the ninth coach from the rear end. According to a tweet by ANI, the CPRO of Northern Railway informed that there was fire in brake binding of Telangana Express. All passengers are reported to be safe. No casualties have been reported in the incident.

As soon as the blaze was reported, fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire. Reports inform that due to the blaze,  up and down train services on the route affected. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident. The  12723/12724 Telangana Superfast Express runs between Hyderabad, capital of Telangana and national capital of India, New Delhi.

Another train accident was reported on Wednesday where four bogies of the Lucknow-Kanpur MEMU train derailed at the Kanpur railway station. As the train was at a low speed, there was no injury and all the passengers had de-boarded the train.  However, there was no report of any casualty, North-Central Railway PRO Amit Malviya said.

According to a report by ANI, the local MEMU train (no. 64201), on its way to Kanpur from Lucknow, was arriving on platform number 3 of the Kanpur railway station when two of its bogies derailed around 7.30 am.
