Mahabubabad, May 31: Denied permission for a stylish haircut by his father, a nine-year-old boy died by suicide in Mahabubabad district, Telangana. Identified as E Harsha Vardhan, the young student, disappointed by his father's refusal, consumed pesticide earlier this week, following which he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, the boy was transferred to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad, where he succumbed to his condition on Friday, May 31.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of his death and the circumstances leading to this tragic incident. According to a report by The Siasat Daily, Harsha Vardhan was the son of a farmer in Chinthagudem village in Ganagaram mandal. The boy, a sixth-grade student at Seethanagram government school, was enjoying his summer vacation. Disheartened by his father's refusal, the boy ingested pesticide on May 26. Harsha Vardhan's treatment continued in Hyderabad for four days before he succumbed to the poisoning on Friday. Following his death, the hospital authorities informed the police, who registered a case of suspicious death. Gangram sub-inspector (SI) B Ravi informed the media that the postmortem procedures were conducted at Gandhi Hospital, Hyderabad.
