Hyderabad, September 8: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday, which is an auspicious day of ‘Dasami’, expanded his cabinet. Sircilla Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) KT Rama Rao, the son of Telangana CM and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao, the nephew of CM, took oath as ministers in the state cabinet in Hyderabad. Tamilisai Soundararajan Sworn in as Telangana Governor.

KT Rama Rao, who is also the working president of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), was holding portfolios of industry, commerce, information technology, NRI affairs, and Urban Development during the first term of TRS. TRS MLA T Harish Rao earlier handled the irrigation ministry.

The decision for a cabinet expansion was announced on Saturday without any prior notice. "Sunday the 8th September 2019 being an auspicious 'Dasami Day', the same day at 4.00 PM the new cabinet ministers will be sworn in, decided the CM," according to the statement by the Telangana Chief Minister's Office.
