Hyderabad, December 6: With just a day left for the assembly election in the state, Telangana police, on Wednesday night, seized cash worth more than Rs 3 crore from Telangana's Warangal. Police officials said that the cash was allegedly brought to the area to influence voters and confirmed that it belonged to Wardhannapet constituency, Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) leader P Devaiah. Telangana Assembly Elections: Rs 7.51 Crore Hawala Cash Seized Before Polls.

"There are evidence that this money was to be distributed among voters and it belonged to Wardhannapet constituency candidate P Devaiah (TJS)," said V Ravinder, Police Commissioner while speaking to news agency ANI. Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the case and started an investigation in the matter.

Earlier on December 4, Telangana police had seized Rs 5.8 crore from a car near Pembarthy check-post in Jangaon district. The cash was reportedly, hidden under the seat of a car bearing the registration number AP37 CK 4985. During the investigations, police found that cash was allegedly meant to distributed among the three electoral candidates Vaddiraju Ravichandra, Nama Nageswar and Konda Murali.
