Hyderabad, November 29: With just a few days remaining for the Assembly elections in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday released its election manifesto for Telangana. The election manifesto, released by BJP Telangana Chief K. Laxman, promised loan waiver up to Rs two Lakhs, regulation of liquor sale, free laptops to degree students, free distribution of cows to one lakh people every year are some of the main promises in the BJP's manifesto for upcoming Telangana elections.
The manifesto further promised free cycles to girl students from 7th standard to 10th standard. Girl students who have completed graduation and above courses will get 'scooties' at 50 per cent subsidy. Among the major poll promises, here are top 10 promises of BJP Manifesto:
- Farm loan waivers up to Rs 2 lakh
- Free bore or well or a pump set to every farmer
- Free laptops to degree students
- Regulation of liquor sale
- Unemployment dole of Rs 3,116 per month for unemployed youth
- Girl students with degrees will get 'scooties' with 50 per cent subsidy.
- Free distribution of cows to one lakh people every year
- Free distribution of quality seeds
- Subsidy to senior citizens for visiting Kailash Mansarovar, Kashi and Puri
- Rs 1 lakh and one 'tola' gold to poor women at the time of marriage under 'Sowbhagya Laxmi' scheme
Meanwhile, Congress on Tuesday released its manifesto for upcoming Telangana elections. The Congress in its poll manifesto has promised schools for Muslims and free electricity for mosques and churches, besides making Urdu the second official language in the state. The party also elaborated its plans for SC, ST and OBC, if voted to power. It also promised waiver of crop loans up to 2 lakhs.
The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in the state on December 7 to constitute the second Legislative Assembly and the results will be announced on December 11.
