Bhiwani, November 11: In a shocking case from Haryana, a 19-year-old teenager was arrested for killing a 75-year-old woman after he failed to rape her. The incident took place in Haryana's Bhiwani district on November 7. The accused was identified as Raja, who reportedly tried to rape the elderly woman but when she shouted for help, he gagged her using a scarf and then hit her with a brick on her head.

As the victim died, the accused dragged her body and threw it in a nearby plot. The crime came to light when the son of the elderly woman found her dead body in a plot near his house and filed a police complaint. Based on a complaint, police and forensic department started investigations and found that the drag marks on the road were extended till Raja's house. Till that time, Raja and his mother had locked their house and gone to live with their relatives at Haripur village.

Police later raided their relative's home and nabbed him. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime which took place on November 7. The police officials told Hindustan Times that the elderly woman used to collect milk from milkman outside Raja's house. On the day of an incident, seeing a woman alone, Raja dragged her inside her house and attempted to rape her but she started to shouting, which drove him to commit the crime.

Reportedly, Raja's mother after coming home from market saw blood stains in the veranda, to save her son from getting arrested she washed the entire house and some parts of the road. Both the accused are arrested in the charges of murdering and hiding the crime.
