As Mumbaikars are getting ready for the Tata Mumbai Marathon on Sunday, the Mumbai police have issued Traffic routes and a few guidelines for peoples reference. The marathon which will start at 5.40 am, will be flagged off from outside the landmark Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST). The Traffic guidelines issued by Police is important for people participating in the race and people who are planning or travel through the path of the marathon in the morning hours. According to the latest advisory, the participants who are running for the full marathon: Elite, Amateur have to assemble at Azad Maidan and line up on the Mahanagarpalika marg before starting the race at CSMT. The race for Elite category will start at 7:30 am m similarly, for Amateur at 5:30 am. Asian Champ Gopi, Sudha to Run in Mumbai Marathon.

For half marathon, participants need to assemble at Worli Dairy Premises, the marathon will start at 5:30 am from North Bound Carriageway opposite Worli Dairy. In a similar way, the marathon for specially abled people will start at 7:25 am from CSMT and end at Maharata Gandhi Road. According to the guideline, NS Road and Bandra-Worli-Sea link will remain closed for commuters on the route from 4 am to 1 pm on Sunday. In order to cater to participants from different areas, Western Railway will be running two special trains at 2.45 am and 3.05 am respectively. Likewise, Central Railway has a special train from Kalyan to CSMT at 3 am and Panvel at 3.10 am in Harbour line.
The 16th edition of the Mumbai Marathon will be held today i.e on January 20, Sunday and around 45,000 participants are expected to participate in the run. The total prize money awarded in this edition of the Mumbai Marathon will be USD 405,000.
