Tantrik Link to Burari Deaths? Delhi Police Launch Hunt For Baba Janugade
Earlier, the police recovered a set of handwritten letters which gave impetus to the occult angle behind the deaths.
New Delhi, July 2: Based upon the call detail records of deceased Bhatia family in Delhi's Burari, the police has identified Baba Janugade, who was reportedly in touch with the family. A search operation has been launched to nab the tantrik.
Earlier, the police recovered a set of handwritten letters which gave impetus to the occult angle behind the deaths. One of the letters read, "Have to meet God before June 3", whereas, another said, "Carry the act only on a Thursday or a Sunday," further instructing the deceased to use "dim lights" while ending their lives.
The investigating officers have also found 11 mysterious "pipes" in the house, which could be linked to their mystical practices.
A close relative of the Bhatia family, identified as Sujata, has contradicted the superstition angle being linked to their deaths, calling it baseless.
"Someone killed them and all the reports on spiritual angle are bogus. This family was a happy and peace loving one who never believed in 'babas'," she told news agency ANI.
The neighbours, meanwhile, said the family was "deeply religious" with each member praying at least thrice a day. However, none among them found the family believing in tantriks or cult leaders.
Autopsy report of six among the deceased said the death was caused due to "ligature hanging", with no signs of resistance found.
The deceased have been identified as Narayani Devi (77), her two sons Bhavnesh (50) and Lalit (45), her daughters-in-law Savita (48) and Teena (42), her daughter Pratibha (57), her grandchildren Priyanka (33), Nitu (25), Monu (23), Dhruv (15) and Shivam (15). They were found dead on Sunday morning.
