Chennai, October 31: In a shocking incident in Tamil Nadu, a 20-year-old woman from Thirukazhukundram was allegedly raped by her Instagram friend and his two friends. The alleged rape occurred over the course of two days in Pallavaram. Police officials said that the victim was raped by her friend after she went to his place and informed her family that she was going to attend the birthday party of her friend.

According to The Times of India reports, the incident came to light when the rape survivor managed to share her location with her brother, thus leading to her rescue on Tuesday, October 29. The incident occurred on October 26, when the victim left home, claiming she had to attend a birthday party of her friend. After she left her home on Saturday, October 26, the victim was picked up by Harish, who took her to his room in Pallavaram. Cops said that the victim stayed at Harish's place for two days. However, when the woman did not return home, her parents approached the police and lodged a missing complaint. The duo also allegedly raped the woman. When the woman decided to escape, she somehow managed to grab Harish's mobile and send her location to her brother, who immediately alerted the police. Acting on the information, an all-women police team from Pallavaram rescued the woman from Harish's room in Shankar Naga.

Meanwhile, it is learned that all three suspects are at large. The police have launched a manhunt to man the accused even after the victim's family refused to file a complaint.
