Mumbai, September 22: In a horrific incident that took place in Tamil Nadu, a man allegedly beheaded his wife's lover in Tenkasi district. After killing his wife's lover, the accused took the victim's head to his wife's village in Tuticorin district, where he placed it in front of her house. Police officials said that the accused, identified as S Velusamy, was angry with his wife for leaving him.
According to a report in the Times of India, the accused and the deceased, identified as D Murugan, are both residents of Kannadikulam in Tenkasi district. As per the report, Velusamy was married to Esakkiammal of Rajaputhukudi in Tuticorin district. Cops said that Murugan and Esakkiammal allegedly developed an affair, which resulted in a dispute between the married couple. Following the constant fights between them, Esakkiammal separated from Velusamy and went to live with her parents in Rajaputhukudi. This irked Velusamy, who then decided to take revenge. He reportedly hacked Murugan to death while he was grazing his cattle. The alleged incident occurred on Thursday near Kannadikulam.
After beheading Murugan, Velusamy carried the victim's head to his wife's village. An officer privy to the case said the accused carried the head on a moped to Rajaputhukudi. Later, he placed the beheaded head in front of Esakkiammal's house and fled from the spot. Soon, cops were alerted who recovered the body and launched a manhunt for Velusamy. Police then arrested Velusamy and recovered the deceased's head from Rajaputhukudi. The accused has been booked for murder, and further investigation is underway.
