Chennai, October 7: In an unfortunate incident in Tamil Nadu, a 33-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at his house in Senneerkuppam, Poonamallee. The alleged incident occurred on Saturday, October 5. The deceased was identified as Vinoth Kumar. Police officials said that Vinoth Kumar was depressed over his losses in online trading, which reportedly ran into several lakhs.

During the investigation, cops learned that Kumar worked as an insurance agent, reports TOI. They also said that the deceased lived with his wife and one-year-old child. The tragic incident took place on Saturday when Kumar's wife went to a shop. She immediately alerted her neighbours, who helped her and rushed Kumar to a hospital. However, he was declared dead on arrival. During the preliminary probe, cops found that Kumar had taken loans from several people to invest in online trading. However, he had suffered continuous losses. They also learned that he sold a few of his properties to repay debts but did not quit trading, thus incurring further losses.

An official said that the day Kumar ended his life, a lender had called him. The official further said that the lender had called Kumar and demanded repayment of INR 15 lakh and even abused him.
